A host of recent headlines suggest that our nation is facing a behavioral health crisis. And if we’re honest with ourselves, we know this crisis hits very close to home. Many of us are close with people who have struggled with mental health and/or substance use, and some of us have even lost loved ones to these challenges. For those of us who work in various aspects of the justice system, we know there is a high concentration of persons battling mental health and/or substance use disorders in this setting. For all of these reasons, it’s imperative that all of us who work here get some basic training on various aspects of behavioral health – what forces might drive it, what are some of the most common disorders and how are they treated, the possibility and power of recovery, and how can we protect our own wellness in this setting. Please join us for a very informative and interactive one-day training, free of charge, right here in the Courthouse building. We have applied for CLE and CJE credits, and know this training will be valuable for all who attend. Meals and beverages provided. We'll see you there!
