Attorney Wellness Initiative
The Collier County Bar Association Attorney Wellness Initiative features, among other benefits, confidential, convenient, cost-free access to professional psychological services for all Collier County attorneys.
Overview
Let’s face it, being an attorney is challenging during the best of times. Dealing with difficult clients or colleagues, compassion fatigue, struggling with work/life balance, and the ever-changing legal landscape can make this a stressful career path.
The CCBA provides up to 6 complimentary sessions with an independent, doctorate-level clinical psychologist per year as a benefit to all Collier County attorneys, regardless of their membership status with our association.
Confidential appointments are self-referred and self-initiated with no medical diagnoses, no insurance billing, and no electronic records. No member identification or notification are ever provided to employers, the CCBA, or the Florida Bar. If you utilize these services through the program, your identity is never disclosed to others without your written consent. Participating psychologists bill the CCBA directly with de-identified data. Peer-to-Peer Network
The peer-to-peer network is a panel of local attorneys who are committed to trying to help their peers navigate rough patches in their professional or personal lives. Members of the panel are available to talk through problems, discuss paths forward, make referrals, and provide support to their peers who are experiencing difficulties.
Every member of the panel has attended a training session developed and taught by The David Lawrence Center. And every member has signed the following Oath of Confidentiality: I have read the Mission Statement of the Collier County Attorney Wellness Initiative, and, as a panelist on the Peer-to-Peer Network, I agree that "confidentiality is paramount to the success of the program." Further, I agree that: 1. My communications with any lawyer who contacts me as a member of the Peer-to-Peer Network will be treated as if they were "client" communications pursuant to Rule 4-1.6, Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, including the exceptions to that Rule. 2. Any violation of this Oath of Confidentiality may be treated as a violation of Rule 4-1.6 and subject me to disciplinary action by The Florida Bar. Read the Oaths Here >

“I believe we all struggle or have struggled with maintaining a work/life balance as well as setting boundaries, both at home and at work. We all deal with stress and anger, and we all must learn to accept that we are not perfect as much as we want to
project that image to our colleagues and potential clients.”
